The invincible Angels Football club of Benue State has been urged to make the state proud in the forthcoming Nigeria women professional football league. Dr. Eunice Ortom, wife of the Governor of Benue State gave the charge today when she received the Board, coaching crew and players of the club who paid her a visit at the Benue Peoples House. She advised the players to be worthy ambassadors of the state through their conduct. Dr. Mrs. Ortom lauded the girls for channeling their energy properly, and urged them to be a mirror of inspiration to other ladies of their age. An appeal has been made to women in Benue State to come out and seek elective positions in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the State. Wife of the Governor of Benue State, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom gave the charge at the convocation dinner held in her honor by well-wishers and friends of the present administration in the State. Dr. Mrs. Ortom appealed to Governor Samuel Ortom to provide more opportunities for women in the State to serve the administration. While acknowledging that the council polls provide an opportunity for the women, she had this to say “I expect more women to come out and contest so as to earn the Governor’s support. On Friday, 24 th March 2017, Dr. Ortom accompanied by her husband and some members of the State Executive council laid the foundation for the construction of a female hostel to be donated to the State University upon completion. The First Benue Women Economic summit organized by Eunice Spring of Life Foundation ESLF was held in November 2016 in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.
