Wife of the Governor of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom has described the free medical services provided in the state by FUTURE ASSURED, the NGO of the wife of the president Federal Republic of Nigeria Mrs. Aisha Buhari as an important democracy gain. Dr. Mrs. Ortom stated this in a speech she delivered recently at the free medical outreach of FUTURE ASSURED, held at Government Girls College Makurdi She lauded the relevance and timeliness of the programme to assuage the plight of the masses imposed by the current recession in the country thus intensifying people’s expectation on government intervention. “Altogether, thousands of our people have received medical attention that will go a long way to improve their health status to live healthier and happier lives and be more economically productive. ESLF HOLDS DINNER NIGHT ON FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Eunice Spring of life Foundation ESLF, the NGO of wife of the Governor of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom has stepped up efforts towards the construction of an oncology centre in Benue State. “Already, we have secured land where the centre will be built” Dr. Ortom stated on Sunday evening at the dinner party to mark the one year anniversary of ESLF, at Doo palace hotel in Makurdi, the state capital. “It is our hope that the centre would be completed and commissioned before the second anniversary of the foundation”, she said. There was renewed commitment today by the wife of the Governor Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom to partner with relevant organizations in achieving the desired objectives for mother and child Issues in the state. Dr. Ortom is  the founder, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation ESLF which marked its one year of existence yesterday. She gave the assurance when she received the Head of Activation, Audrey pack Lagos, Mrs. Juliet obieze who paid her a courtesy visit on behalf of the organisation at the Benue peoples House Makurdi. Audrey pack which works in affiliation with MTN Nigeria, is seeking partnership with ESLF aimed at reducing maternal and infant mortality (Mother and child) in Benue State. The founder of ESLF informed her visitor of her interest in programmes that concerns mother and child adding that, ESLF had already procured land for the commencement of construction work for a mother and child centre in makurdi. It was a night of thrill and chills. The Goodwill messages that came from the former First Lady of the state, Chief Regina Akume, Dr peter Inunduh of Federal Medical Centre Makurdi, Dr Magdalyn Dura, Special Adviser to the Governor on SDG, NEPAD and Development Cooperation as well as the state commissioner for Health Dr Cecilia ojabo, all attested to the achievements so far recorded by the foundation in just one year.. Program officer of the foundation, Mrs Ginnete Saloma-Ikpaahindi had earlier gone down memory lane to highlight the achievements. Music artists such as Rapizo, Eugenous the great, Philon Brown and tee Roy,all sang lyrics competing for the theme song of the foundation, while Mrs Beatrice Shomkegh officially presented the maiden edition of the ESLF publication highlighting the activities of the foundation in the last one year.
